Bacalao a la portuguesa or cod dorado, is a typical Portuguese dish, very simple to prepare and very tasty to taste. Cod is a white fish, therefore it is low in fat. offers us an ideal recipe for children and also very traditional at Easter

The Portuguese prepare cod with straw-cut potatoes, onion and eggs. The combination is spectacular on the palate. Your children can help you in the preparation of this dish and in the end ... they will eat it all!

  • 250 g of flaked cod
  • ½ k potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 eggs
  • Very chopped parsley or cilantro

Tips: To this exquisite recipe you can also add pieces of black olives, widely used in Portuguese cuisine.

1. The first thing to do is soak and desalt the flaked cod, remembering that you have to change the water every half hour. Next, drain the cod and set it aside. Reserve.

2. Cut the potatoes into straw and fry them in abundant oil until golden brown. Drain them on absorbent paper.

3. Cut the onion into very thin slices and sauté them with a little oil in a frying pan, until they start to brown. Then add the crumbled cod and stir for about a minute or until done.

4- Finally, add the eggs, beaten previously. It is heated gently and when they start to set, add the potatoes and stir carefully. When serving, put some of the chopped parsley or coriander on top.
