Sports are very beneficial for children: soccer, basketball ... in this sport we were inspired to prepare a recipe for children of basketball cakepops with orange and chocolate for Father's Day.

This sweet gift is great fun to prepare for children, who can take care of crumbling the cake, shaping and decorating it, as well as eating it with their parents. Fun in the kitchen with the children is guaranteed!

  • 275 gr. Of flour
  • 230 gr. of sugar
  • 115 gr. butter or margarine + 110 gr. (for the cream)
  • 3 eggs
  • 90 ml. milk
  • 2 oranges
  • 450 gr. icing sugar (for the cream)
  • Orange food coloring
  • 100 gr. of chocolate
  • 50 ml. cream

1. Sift the flour with the flour, mix well and reserve.

2. Beat the butter or margarine with the sugar until creamy. Add the eggs one by one, beating well until just combined before adding the next.

3. Grate one of the oranges and squeeze the juice. Add to the dough together with half a teaspoon of orange food coloring and mix well.

4. Preheat the oven to 185ºC. Grease a mold, turn the dough and bake for about 20-25 minutes. Let cool and crumble the cake with your hands.

5. For the buttercream: Beat 110 gr. of butter or margarine with the icing sugar, the zest and the juice of the other orange. Keep beating until creamy, add half a teaspoon of food coloring and beat to integrate the color.

6. Mix the cake with the buttercream and form a paste. Shape into balls, place them on a tray and chill for half an hour in the freezer.

7. Melt the chocolate with the cream in the microwave or in a water bath. Dip the end of the sticks in the chocolate and stick them in the balls. Cool again for another half hour. Put the rest of the chocolate in a pastry bag with a narrow nozzle, remove the balls and decorate by making two crossed lines and two lateral lines in order to give the shape of the basketball.
