Fondant is a paste that is mainly used in dessert recipes to coat and decorate buns, cakes, muffins or cakes. The word comes from French (that melts) because it melts or melts in your mouth.
The fondant can be bought in many stores or it can also be made with water, sugar and glucose, but we are going to make a fondant with sweet clouds or marshmallow. With this dough you can decorate your desserts.
- 100 grams of sweet clouds or marshmallow
- Some water
- A little butter or margarine to spread
- 200 grams of icing sugar
Tips: you can use food coloring so that the dough has different tones and your desserts are spectacular.
1. Take a little butter or margarine and spread it in the bowl so that when you put the clouds inside they don't stick to the container. Pour the clouds into the bowl, add a tablespoon of water and put it in the microwave.
2. Heat the clouds in the microwave and remove the bowl every 30 seconds from the oven to check if the clouds have melted. Stir the clouds so they don't burn or stick. Little by little the clouds begin to undo and form a homogeneous mass. We repeat the process until we have the clouds undone, to the point of cream.
3. When the clouds are melted, remove them from the microwave and add a little of the icing sugar into the bowl and stir with a spoon while it cools. When the dough is cold, knead it with your hands while adding the rest of the icing sugar. The fondant is ready when it doesn't stick in your hands.
4. When the texture of the fondant is elastic, finish kneading it with the rolling pin. Make a ball, wrap it in transparent paper and let it rest for 6 to 8 hours. Your cloud fondant is ready to decorate desserts!
